Grid computing is, linking of multiple computing resources (processors,RAM,HD, etc) – to provide a much larger and more powerful single virtual computer. Advantages of GRID computing are scalability, efficient use of computer resource and running the appication faster.

Grid computing uses parallel and distributed processing to dynamically share and aggregate multiple computer resources. When a programs is submitted to the grid, the "middleware" analyzes the program first. Based on the program requirements and availability of resources in the Grid, middleware should allocate the program. Parallel processing is the main source for faster execution, so it should identify the code which are independent and execute it parallely across different machine and aggregate the result.

With prioritization and artificial intelligence inclusion the GRID computing gonna be a big hit.

Hey guys you won't believe this ,I just spend nearly three hours in just searching for mysql command to get the current date and time of yesterday .It may seem funny and silly to you, but it really took my time .Its been problem with me all days ,I won't read anything to the core ,will just understand the basics of it and try to figure other things out of it .Mostly my principle won many times ,but these are some times where my principle failed. Fine this is my state where I need to finish a imaginative script (assume everythings and write it) within evening . I just finished my coding part and it was a time to get some information on previous dates from MYSQL table .

I know current_timestamp () will give the current timestamp ,but I just want to get the current yesterday time . My search keeps on going in all patterns of key words ,but the result is 404 . Finally after three hours I got this keyword interval from some where around fifth result page of google. This is it.

select current_timestamp();

'2009-09-04 09:33:53'

select current_timestamp() - interval 1 day ;

'2009-09-03 09:33:53'

select current_timestamp() - interval 1 hour ;

'2009-09-03 03:33:53'

select current_timestamp() - interval 1 minute ;

'2009-09-03 03:32:53'

select current_timestamp() - interval 1 second ;

'2009-09-03 03:33:52'

Hope it may help some guys like me at some point .

The Perfect Boss . . . !

There were about 70 scientists working on a very hectic project. All of them were really frustrated due to the pressure of work and the demands of their boss but everyone was loyal to him and did not think of quitting the job.

One day, one scientist came to his boss and told him -

Sir, I have promised to my children that I will take them to the exhibition going on in our township. So I want to leave the office at 5 30 pm.

His boss replied

"OK, You ' re permitted to leave the office early today"

The Scientist started working. He continued his work after lunch. As usual he got involved to such an extent that he looked at his watch when he felt he was close to completion. The time was 8.30 PM.

Suddenly he remembered of the promise he had given to his children. He looked for his boss, He was not there. Having told him in the morning itself, he closed everything and left for home. Deep within himself, he was feeling guilty for having disappointed his children.

He reached home. Children were not there. His wife alone was sitting in the hall and reading magazines.
The situation was explosive; any talk would boomerang on him.

His wife asked him "Would you like to have coffee or shall I straight away serve dinner if you are hungry.

The man replied "If you would like to have coffee, i too will have but what about Children??"

Wife replied "You don ' t know?? Your manager came here at 5.15 PM and has taken the children to the exhibition "

What had really happened was ...

The boss who granted him permission was observing him working seriously at 5.00 PM. He thought to himself, this person will not leave the work, but if he has promised his children they should enjoy the visit to exhibition. So he took the lead in taking them to exhibition. The boss does not have to do it every time. But once it is done, loyalty is established.

That is why all the scientists at Thumba continued to work under their boss even though the stress was tremendous.

By the way, can you guess as to who the boss was..?

He was none other than

The one and only.......Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former-President of India...

PLEASE GO THROUGH THIS

My dear President,

I agree with you that swine flu awareness is needed, but there is no need to be panicky and join the publicity propaganda carried out by media and others which acts as a vehicle to spread misconception than to spread scientific information.

These are few facts about swine flu when discussed with the leading epidemiologists.

1) Swine flu, that is H1N1 flu is not new, first detected in 1987
2) Infective stage of flue is 5 days, 1 day before and 4 days after onset of symptoms
3) The best way to prevent it spreading is asking patient having symptoms of flu like fever cough and running nose to take rest at home for 4 days so he does not transmit it
4) Masks are of limited value if any, in this disease, it can spread through droplets on your skin, through contact etc, and I have seen that the masks in Pune are worn as fashion statement, while walking on road today morning I saw people wearing masks coming out for a morning walk with their dogs!, many wearing masks around their necks, and so on, infect these masks shall act as the vehicles to carry the virus, instead, avoiding crowded places or cinema halls or malls where air conditioners are on, is advisable, because you get recalculated air, where the virus density multiplies
5)Death after H1N1 flu is not common, infect infections like measles is taking toll of thousands more every year, and we are oblivious of the facts. Swine flu is being blown out of proportion by media trying to create hysteria among lay people.
6) Fever accompanied by respiratory distress, should be immediately notified which is likely to be a complication of H1N1 flu
7)The mortality is less than .01 percent of those affected, that means may be one in 10,000 affected is likely to suffer the life loss.

8) If you remember, 2 years ago SARS was blown out of proportion, what happened? Humans develop immunity to the virus, the same is going to happen, we develop immunity in due course of time, the virus is in the air, you can not stop it, our body is already developing the immunity so nothing to panic.
We need to take care of children and elderly who have less immunity and do not let them go to crowded places that are all.

WE MUST START THIS CAMPAIGN OF NOT  TO BE AFRAID OF THIS FLU AND LET YOUR DAILY WORK CONTINUE AS NORMAL, NO MASKS FOR ORDINARY CITIZENS, HEALTH CARE WORKERS OR SPECIFIC EXPOSED TO LOT OF CROWDED ENVIRONMENTS MAY BE BENEFITTED, NOT PROVEN.

I am amazed to hear that people are selling masks of RS 20 each which are available to less than Rupee 1 in the market.
See who is getting benefitted?

Please spread the scientific info, do not join the band wagon and stick to science, that should be the order of the day.

Finally Google started making its mark very hard on desktop applications. Their plan of Google Chrome itself shattered the IE browser market ,now their project on OS will surely hit the bottom of Microsoft. Whatever may be , this world is full of competition and everybody needs to fight for their pride and money.

Some simple and magnificient words on Google Chrome OS .

1) Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted only to netbooks .May be after its success there they will target more.

2)Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips.

3) According to their architecture ,it will be like a (switch on pc on ) system there is no huge loading bar to check your patience .

4)Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.

5)As they did for the Google Chrome browser, they are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS . Hope there will be only one release ,not releasing patch for every month.

6) All web-based applications already existing in the web now will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies using Google Chrome OS . And no doubts , these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux.

7)Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web.

8) According to Google Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS.

9) Android was targetted to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks .But Chrome OS will target only netbook first.

10) Finally this is coming as an open source and Google is again proving that they care for human values more.

I bet quite a few of you were like me....started to read this with your legs crossed...so hard to break this bad habit! :)

Those who often cross their legs when sitting for a long period of time, 3 unhealthy things will happen:

1 Their backbone tends to become 'C' shape
2 They will have neck aches and backaches on one side
3 For ladies, the shoulder will tend to slant one side causing the bra strap to slip down the slanted shoulder.

Try not to cross your legs when sitting.

Those who do not understand Chinese also can take a look at the uncensored photos below (Hope Google will not mark my site as porn site !!!!):

To know more about people search engine and Social search engine click here.

Normally Google adsense will use its crawler Google Media partner to crawl the site and display the ad based on its content . Comparitive to the non targetted ads ,this seems good now . But to be frank the site owners are not satisfied much by this effort of Google .

I guess this gonna be the new idea of Google adsense targetting technique:

Instead of displaying ads based on the site content ,they can display ads based on the visitors interest which they can get using the visitors mail address in spokeo.com .This will surely give good result to both the advertiser and publisher. I am sure Google sooner or later gonna implement this technique in adsense . Who knows ,If google or yahoo really like this people search engine technique they may either acquire these sites (spokeo.com ,rapleaf.com ) or will develop a competitive algo with many more advantages and throw spokeo out of business. But as of now Spokeo.com is the leader of people search engines .

Definition: People search engines will help you identify people more easier and efficient than other search engines. If you just give the mail id of the person you want to know , their biography is in your hand.

Yeah man its really cool . These business people are always clever and simple , no need to develop some complex algo to rock this world ,just use your common sense .This is what motto of spokeo.com and rapleaf.com , these guys didn't develop any clever search engine algorithm to develop this site they just innovated from the existing ones.

Their algorithm is simple get members most used mail id and his password, import all his contacts and search those mail ids in the major public social networking sites and aggregate the result in a clever and intersting way . I just tried my mail id and saw really good result ,which even google cannot produce . Here people cannot complain of thieir privacy ,because they track and report things which are already available in the net as public one.

The big part is ,it gonna revolutionize the new entire tartgetted marketing world . By having your mail id ,the marketing agency can find your interest, hobbies ,habit ,everything and hit you at right time with right product. This technology is very young to the market , but sure its gonna create a new revolution in internet.

This is mainly for the new hires to the software industry , they will not be aware of those proxy/monitoring scripts which runs in the back of internet and tracking each of our key click and http transactions . Without minding that the fresh minds will browse all those useless sites and finally get a warning mail from his Project Manager . Even though in many of the company this is not a big issue ,its worth aware of it. Already the security team of company will have their own script to track all those , besides there are some new companies starting their business with their main objective of pirating the privacy of software professionals . In that list comes the following advertisement.

Its just fun , So please tear this page in the PC world book june 2009 edition of your office copy ,before your project manager sees.

Some business speak terms are:

* Advise — a word normally reserved for formal communication in English, but used in mundane circumstances for business speak, such as, "Please advise which size of Pro Block is ordered."
* -age- this suffix is appended to mundane words to create a more official tone, as in, "I noticed some breakage on that item. We might want to facilitate signage so there's some verbage out there as to proper usage."
* Attn. — used on an envelope, this abbreviation for the word "Attention" is put before the name of the recipient, assumedly so that it is not opened by someone else. Critics say that the word is redundant, since the letter is obviously addressed to the recipient, with or without "Attn." before their name.
* Bandwidth — nothing to do with a signal's frequency range, some people will say they don't have time to do something by telling people that they 'don't have the bandwidth'.
* Branded/branding — handling of a company's marketing; generally related to the overall feeling evoked by the company's products, advertisements, and graphic design in the public or the company's customers; such as in, "We need to analyze how our product is branded."
* Communicate — often used in place of "say" or "tell", assumedly since "communicate" conveys all forms of communication (e-mail, voice mail, etc.), and not just speaking. Critics say that the word sounds ridiculously long in its usual context, such as "Did you communicate to Jodi where her file was?"
* Context — often used in place of "background" or "information". Used in conversation such as "What's the context?" or "Give me some context"
* Connect ear-to-ear - The corporate-hip way to say "talk on the phone." "Let's connect ear-to-ear tomorrow to discuss how we can leverage our B2B synergies in a real-time customizable platform."
* Deliverable — anything that has to be done by a certain date to be verified by another party. "Have you met your deliverables? What's the ETA?"[1]
* Drill-down — A relative newcomer in Management Speak, to "drill-down" is to get into the "nitty-gritty" of a situation or scenario, for instance when a high-level report is published and the implications for smaller sections of the organization need to be ascertained, it is common for a session of "drilling-down" between managers to occur."
* ETA — acronym for "Estimated Time of Arrival", but used in the business world as your estimated time to completion of a task. "I need the ETA on your project."
* Facilitate — to direct the flow of a meeting. Similar in meaning to "chairing a meeting", but often in a less formal style. An example: "Will you facilitate a meeting with your team about our branding?"
* Going forward - a confident gesture towards the future, but generally vague on timing, which usually means it can be removed from a sentence with little or no effect on its overall meaning. "Increased uncertainty has the potential to restrain economic growth going forward."[2]
* Guided - used to abdicate responsibility for a decision, especially where the consequences of making a poor choice could be severe. Ex: "We would be guided by you on that" translates as "you make the decision, I'm not sticking my neck out"
* Heads up - used to ask for a report/update on something, ex: "Give me a heads up on this."
* Home Run — used to refer to a business venture that will be very profitable. "Selling ice in Alaska during the winter to polar bears is a home run!"
* Leverage - used more often as a verb in business speak than in conventional English, meaning "to take advantage of" or "to act upon". Critics see the verb form as an unnecessary substitution for the verb "to use", as in "She leveraged her network of contacts to find many qualified candidates."
* Massive-Aggressive - 1. Used to indicate the marketing tactics of a company or firm; large distribution, ignorant of privacy concerns. 2. Used to describe a coworker whose reactions to trivial, somewhat negative information is highly disproportionate and panic-driven; syn HISTRIONIC.
