Finally the long awaited Google chrome addons got released . There are quite a good number of add ons available now .But be sure you don't overload your browser with many number of addons and don't lose the simplicity of Google chrome look. According to me the best application in the PC world is BROWSER ,without which PC is of no use. There are around more than 1000 browsers available in the world , each has its own advantages and disadvantages . But regardless of their names they will always say that their browser is the fastest of all in the world . The following test was conducted by PC magazine under same configuration of PC and network connection. To calculate the speed of browser, speed of javascript execution is to be checked .So they have targetted some famous rich Internet application sites (Amazon,Youtube,Yahoo,Wiki) and tested them under same criteria on this four famous browsers . The result is simple.

So finally it was Google Chrome which won the credit of "Fastest of all" . Thanks Google, you are proving again you are the beset . To know more about Google chrome read here

Clever people tend to lose their common sense very often . This is what I can say at the end and console myself .

I was busy with my work and doing some things useful by checking some production issues .In the meanwhile I don't know what I clicked ? But it lead to my navigation bar getting disappeared in my browser . I didn't notice that entire navigation bar is missing , I just felt address bar alone missing . With urgency I just restarted the browser with the hope of getting it back , but it was missing . Suddenly some instinct said me as such this may be a big bug in firefox 3.0.7 so I uninstalled that version and installed the new one . To prove my instinct as false again it is not displaying the address bar . I don't know what the hell is happening there ?

Then I asked some of my nearby colleagues by just saying "my address bar alone missing " . Eventhough they are clever , they can't answer this foolish question ?
Then only my waste brain started working and scolded me like a dog ? why you didn't google it ? .Yup I rectified my mistake and googled " firefox browser address bar missing " . I just got one line answer goto view -> toolbar -> select navigation bar , thats it. I got my navigation bar back.

Matter of two clicks wasted my one hour in fixing that stupid one and 10 minutes in writing this useless post.

The following are the words in the Mozilla home page ,which really touched my heart and made me to create this post .

What is organic software according ?

As software companies go, we’re a little unusual. We use the term ‘organic software’ to sum up the various ways we’re different from the other guys:

Our most well-known product, Firefox, is created by an international movement of thousands, only a small percentage of whom are actual employees.

We’re motivated by our mission of promoting openness, innovation and opportunity on the web rather than business concerns like profits or the price of our stock (guess what: we don’t even have stock).

And as a non-profit, public benefit organization, we define success in terms of building communities and enriching people’s lives. We believe in the power and potential of the Internet and want to see it thrive for everyone, everywhere.

Another reason what they are saying for going as open source is really cool ?

This might sound crazy at first, but bear with us: we believe that the more people who know our “secrets”, the better.

So, we exposed the Firefox source code – the very nuts & bolts of what makes it all work – to the world and encouraged everyone to have a look.

Some people saw things to improve and made the fixes. Others had ideas for new features and made them happen. And others yet took that code, applied their own innovations and built completely new (and amazing) products.

The moral of the story? Being open means good things will happen. Anyone can peek behind our curtains…in fact, there really aren’t any curtains at all.

These where the things I found in their web page.
But how they get the money ,to pay those few employees ?
The answer is Google , wonder how ?
Mozilla Corporation makes all that money because of the Google Search box on the top right. If you search with that box (which I do all day long) and you click on the Google ads on the results page Firefox gets ~80% of that. They also have Amazon in the search box, and other services that I'm sure kick them back some affiliate fees. Brilliant.

After a long back and huge expectaion Microsoft released its browser Internet Explorer 8 in a great way . Really Microsoft have brought up some cool things to catch up with the competitors FireFox, Chrome,Opera .

Some things which I used and felt good are :

As like Google chrome Incognito window ,here you are provided with some private options.Private blocking helps us to stop the third party cookie transfer and third party ad tracking things.Private Subscription allows "subscribing to lists of sites to block". private browsing will not save browsing and searching history, cookies, form data and passwords; it also will automatically clear the browser cache.

Then regarding to security when the browser identifies a site contains malware . It will throw some alert message on the window, which is really good in protecting our system from malware.

Accelerator is a selection based search technique which comes into picture when we select some part of text in the web page . We are provided with options like sending this text to our blog or searching in the maps etc. This is really cool ,but some what similar to the functionality of Google tool bar.

Automatic crash recovery : Suppose when your browser crashed in the middle of viewing some web pages , we no need to worry now the IE is capable of remembering the web pages and will restore once we restart it . This is some thing which is very famous in firefox and lacking in IE before.

As like the add on Firebug for firefox , IE came up with inbuilt option for web developers to track their front end code .

Even though many of their features are copied from the competitors , IE 8 will surely hit the browser market in a great way.

As per my knowledge and guess I recommend the following add ons for the web developers FIREFOX browser.

1) FIREBUG : Nothing need to tell about this add on ,a great tool for the front end developers where you can change various attributes at run time and check the behaviour of html, css , DOM, javascripts.

2) HTTPFOX : To track all the http requests and responses headers and contents , really cool tool for the web servers back end developers .

3) FLAGFOX : Helps us to find where the server is hosted , what is the servers IP , etc.

I guess these three tools are the best of all firefox add ons for the web developers .

I don't find where the world global software giant MICROSOFT will end . I guess currently their success rates are going in deflation at high rate . Their recent failures in VISTA , MSN search ,IE7 flaws are making things more worse .To make it still worse this firefox has set this world record ,which surely pay the way for the degradation of Microsoft IE.

Wanna see what the record is all about .Check out firefox page

In short browser is one which is capable of communicating to the remote server and retrieve the information and render it and give it in the human readable format. In detail Web browser is a software application which enables a user to display and interact with text, images, videos, music, games and other information typically located on a Web page at a Web site on the World Wide Web or a local area network. Text and images on a Web page can contain hyperlinks to other Web pages at the same or different Web site. Web browsers allow a user to quickly and easily access information provided on many Web pages at many Web sites by traversing these links. Web browsers format HTML information for display, so the appearance of a Web page may differ between browsers.

Web browsers are the most-commonly-used type of HTTP user agent. Although browsers are typically used to access the World Wide Web, they can also be used to access information provided by Web servers in private networks or content in file systems.

Pages are located by means of a URL (Uniform Resource Locator, RFC 1738), which is treated as an address, beginning with http: for HTTP transmission. Many browsers also support a variety of other URL types and their corresponding protocols, such as gopher: for Gopher (a hierarchical hyperlinking protocol), ftp: for File Transfer Protocol (FTP), rtsp: for Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), and https: for HTTPS (HTTP Secure, which is HTTP augmented by Secure Sockets Layer or Transport Layer Security).

The file format for a Web page is usually HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and is identified in the HTTP protocol using a MIME content type. Most browsers natively support a variety of formats in addition to HTML, such as the JPEG, PNG and GIF image formats, and can be extended to support more through the use of plugins. The combination of HTTP content type and URL protocol specification allows Web-page designers to embed images, animations, video, sound, and streaming media into a Web page, or to make them accessible through the Web page.

Some of the more popular browsers include additional components to support Usenet news, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), and e-mail. Protocols supported may include Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), and Post Office Protocol (POP). These browsers are often referred to as "Internet suites" or "application suites" rather than merely Web browsers.

Nowadays browser technologies improved lot with many latest technologies such as AJAX, DHTML, etc.The most common web browsers are IE(Internet Explorer), Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Safari.

A mobile browser, also called a microbrowser, minibrowser or wireless internet browser (WIB), is a web browser designed for use on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or PDA. Mobile browsers are optimized so as to display Web content most effectively for small screens on portable devices. Mobile browser software must be small and efficient to accommodate the low memory capacity and low-bandwidth of wireless handheld devices. Typically they were stripped-down web browsers, but as of 2006 some mobile browsers can handle latest technologies like CSS 2.1, JavaScript and Ajax. Websites designed for access from these browsers are referred to as wireless portals.[1]

Reason Why Google Developed Browser and why they made it as open source:

As everybody clearly knows the web applications evolved very rapidly, comparing to the browser platform. It was few years back the Gtalk is only available through the desk top client, like wise even now many web applications cannot function within browser, they need some special client to be installed and run, so this things seems somewhat problem for Google, the reason is they got many interesting applications but not sure whether the browsers always give the right result at great speed. So there they started initiative to develop a browser with more functionality and high-speed .The reason why they put as open source is? They want the browser world to evolve very faster to catch up the web world, which eventually will help the google to dominate further. They internally consider that revenue they will get in browser is meager compare to their web applications. And it is damn belief that when the particular thing is free and available as open source it ll evolve at light speed.

Reason why they named as Google Chrome:

The word Chrome normally stands for all the frames and tool bars, which constitute the Browser window. Google when they first planned to design a browser the first thing they kept in their mind was the success of their search engine, as all knows the success is not only because of its efficient search techniques, its also because of simplicity of their home page .So there they decided our browser should give user, the feel that they are completely free from the annoying toolbars, address bars, searchbar, buttons etc, in simple they want their browser to be damn simple (in deep they want their users to concentrate only on things they really want, not on their browser) .

Some Interesting Things in Google Chrome are:

* Faster execution of JavaScript’s comparing to others using their special JVM 8.
* Presence of Incognito Windows, where the browser history will not be stored.
* New Page or New tab Opened with some history on our previous surfs.
* Creation of desktop shortcut for web applications such as Gmail, Orkut etc
* Ability to import the settings from other browsers.
* Combination of Address and search bars (really interesting)
* Ability to combine and dispatch tabs and windows
* Simpler Interface design
* Running each tab as a separate process
* Ability to open the task manager with shortcut of shift+esc
* Minimizing and Maximizing the bookmarks bar using ctrl + b

What I fEEl on Google Chrome From its experience ?:

* Uses the same memory as like other browsers
* Even when one tab fails all the tabs get crashed (iam not sure what is the reason)
* Many times the plugins failed
* Youtube video processing take some breaks in the middle.
* Execution of JavaScript’s is faster which i felt very clearly in my experience
* We hope that these simple errors will be avoided in the release of main product
* Shockwave flash plugin fails mostly in Gtalk Groupchat page
* To conclude Google Chrome,"It is very powerful, simple in design, but sometimes cause headaches"
